Packaging Guidelines

Packing your Items

  • To make sure your package reaches us safely, choose a strong box (cardboard is best) that'll securely hold the weight of your books, and write your trade number clearly on the side.
  • Books are deceptively heavy, and weight is what catches sellers out. Keep each box under 50 lb. Above that the carrier adds a surcharge, and heavy boxes are more likely to be damaged in transit. If a box is getting heavy, split your trade across two smaller ones and grab an extra free label for each from your account. Rule of thumb: if it's a struggle to lift, it's too heavy. Start another box.
  • If you have more than one trade, pack them into separate boxes.
  • Stack your books as neatly as possible. Placing them in a row helps prevent damage to the pages in transit.
  • Use padding materials wherever you can.
  • Seal the box securely with strong tape.

Always use a strong, rigid box.

Choose the right sized box. Don't underfill or overfill. Your books shouldn't move when you pick the box up.

By packaging your items correctly as in reference to the above, you can reduce the likelihood of your items being rejected upon arrival.



Where you have multiple trades, these must be packed in separate boxes. We reserve the right to reject any items from either trade if they have been packed into the same box.
